Tattoo Removal
Prior to the advent of laser technology, the only method for removing a tattoo resulted in permanent, visible and often unsightly scarring.
Nd-YAG laser causes fragmentation of the ink particles in the skin, thereby enabling elimination by the system's natural defenses for ridding the body of foreign substances. This type of laser is effective against black, red, blue and green colors, with yellow sometimes more resistant.
Is it painful?
It is virtually painless. For sensitive areas, a local anesthetic is enough to render the procedure painless.
After treatment?
There will be pinpoint areas of bleeding. The site will be bandaged for 24 hours, after which small scabs will form and healing will take only a few days.
How many treatments are necessary?
This depends on the amount and type of ink used for the tattoo. Some tattoos done by amateurs can be removed with only one treatment. However, from 3 to 10 sessions may be needed to remove professional tattooing.
